Dr. Tonica Robinson is a behavioral health executive, scholar, researcher, and public thought leader focused on Black American behavioral health. Her work explores how history, policy, social conditions, and institutional systems influence mental health outcomes and access to care. She brings research, public-sector leadership, and health care compliance together to advance person-centered, equitable, and accountable behavioral health systems.

Black behavioral health is shaped by far more than diagnosis, treatment, or individual choice. Dr. Robinson’s framework examines how history, culture, family, community, social conditions, health care systems, and public policy interact to influence well-being, access to care, institutional trust, and behavioral health outcomes for Black Americans.
